Joanne's 18

One Thursday, we decided to throw a surprise party for Joanne with a mysterious surprise gift. Since all this while she has been saying how much she wanted a pair of hamsters, June and I planned our cheeky surprise just days before the celebration.
It was a Tuesday and we had a 2 hour break. We don't know where to get hamsters and the cage nor how much it would cost. I lied to Joanne saying I'm meeting Jeremy at Asia Cafe for "lunch" and June was going to Asia Cafe too to "meet" her friend. So I tagged along. We left without lunch. My stomach was grumbling for some Guava. lol. We went to some place in Subang near Lick Hung School. Fortunately, there was a fruit stall selling Guavas so I grabbed a packet and went to the pet shop. To our dismay, the hamsters were out of stock. All of it! Apparently there was a huge demand for hamsters the previous week. New stock will only be arriving in a week or two. We panicked. But we saw a cage equipped with a wheel. Just what we needed. So we decided to purchase it first.
Then we headed to Pet's wonderland near Subang Parade. Thank God there were winter hamsters, with two different variations. One which is lighter in colour and the other darker. We decided to get the two most active ones, one light and one dark. The guy at the pet store packed it for us and we kept bombing him with questions like can hamsters live in a car for 2 hours? does it need water? must we feed it? can it stand a car journey etc etc etc. We headed back to college and I asked Ee Von to buy mineral water for the hamsters and wait for us at the carpark. We faster filled the cage with wood shavings and filled its bottle and fed it. And we left it in the car before Dr Thed's.

AARGH... so cute. so nice to squeeze. lol

Hammies on wheels

On the day itself, we tried to scare Joanne. We gave her a box which supposed to contain the hamsters but 'voila'! It's not there! LOL. We pre-made a hole in the box to make it seem like the hamsters escaped. Joanne didn't say anything. We pretended scavenging around for the hamsters. Atika was like drama-queening. The scenario was really funny. Joanne remained silent. After a while, we gave up and went to pyramid for lunch. There, we spilled the beans and surprised her with her actual gift. LOL. Two fat chubby hamsters which I wanted to name CHABU and CHABI but she named it Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. (The Bertrand influence)

We then went to Waffle World for lunch.

Great buddies ~ Reagan, Shae, Jay, Philbert

Overall, food was great. Actually it was superb and yummy. All of us shared our waffles and our meals which created an excellent bonding session.

To end the meal, we had hamsters. LOL. just kidding.

I found Remy of ratatouille!!

Anyway, Happy 18th Birthday Joanne! Hope you liked the hammies!
