J'aime Le Théâtre... I Love Teathre

Finally, I've actually managed to visit the KLPAC (KL Performing Arts Centre). I went there yesterday night, while others were busy revising for the Malaysian Studies exam today. haha. It was my first time at klpac, although I've been around the perimeter of the centre. I was there to catch a play entitled TEN: Theatrical Lightning Strikes Human Relationship.

The show was good, very interesting and different from the other plays I've watched. Probably because they had no restrictions and they just expressed their feelings and interests in the form of performing arts. Very creative too. The show is broken into 9 different scenes lasting 10 minutes each and hence, the name TEN. The best part of it is that the audience present were very liberal and open-minded which helps in supporting the local performing arts scene. Price of the ticket was relatively cheap too, RM25 for adults and RM10 for students. We should go more often. haha

The Sentul West Boulevard

The KLPAC is situated in a park called Sentul West, filled with century old buildings which have been restored and presently houses the performing arts centre and a library I think. It's a very artistic place where modern architecture and colonial facade blends into contemporary art.

If it weren't for the gleaming twin towers at the backdrop, I would have thought that I was in another country. It feels like some Swedish or at least, Singaporean office building designed by a renowned architecture. It is yet another pride of YTL.

Art was everywhere, notably visual art. Even the chairs outside the centre was so unique. It looks like some scrap metal but in actual hand, it's a very comfortable sofa with 'cushions' made out of metal.

Definitely a nice place to hangout during the day and snap pictures in the park. I can't wait for my next theatrical experience.
