Adios Kitchen!

Glad to say, I've finally completed my series of kitchen practical classes of the course, year and probably my life. Last day of kitchen was rather relaxing.

The last kitchen pic with Chef Tan. The exquisite Chef air-flown from the island of Bermuda.

XPDC Nasi Lemak

In search for the best Nasi Lemak in town, I brought June and Reagan to sample the Village Park's renowned Nasi Lemak. I picked Reagan from his church and met June at Maybank where she turned up half an hour late. lol.
Then off we go to Village Park. Found ourselves a small cosy table in front of the shop and got our nasi lemak.

Me and June

Digging in to the nasi lemak

June camwhoring

The nasi lemak was scrumptious but a little bit on the expensive side. Also met my cousin, Winnie, from Penang. She'll be getting married in 20 days. lol.

After lunch, we decided to lepak at one utama. Surprisingly, it was relatively easy to find parking unlike other Sundays. In fact, most of the parking lots were empty... Perhaps, The Gardens and Pavilion has much more to offer.

Me, Reagan, June

We went around assisting Reagan in his search for the ultimate material for his service. lol. We walked around aimlessly and watch the time fly before heading over to Kelana Jaya to pick Joanne before heading to June's house.

Me and MINI... Try spotting Joanne... lol. Maybe my seat is TOO BIG. haha

June and Reagan

We helped Reagan with his name tag while crapping around in June's house before I realized it was time to leave for some steamboat extravagant.

Rendezvous

It has actually been some time since I did a review on some new and trendy restaurant, so I decided to check out the Apartment with a bunch of friends recently.
The exterior looks inviting and the concept is one-of-its-kind in Malaysia. It's basically like living in an apartment with sections such as the kitchen, bedroom terrace and I think the lounge.

Atmosphere seems alright but the service sucks... I'm quite surprise knowing that it belongs to the same chain as Friday's, Italiannies and Laundry.

Despite that, the cheese platter was awesome. Unique in a way too.

Sumptuous Cheese Platter

The relatively small bar

Complimentary beverage... lol

Me and Nana doing what we do best

I don't know why everyone (including Mr Patrick) thinks the Apartment is a great place, when it's merely a restaurant with inadequate experienced staff and a simplified menu. -_-

Anyway, not far from the Apartment is Big Apple, a donut store so popular that the line reaches the Apartment sometimes. lol. I tried the donuts quite some time back and I can see why the que is extremely long. The donuts are very affordable as well.

Apart from Big Apple, there's this store called J. Co, which sells the same thing and they even share quite a similar logo. I can't wait to try them but it's situated all the way in Pavilion... sigh.

Fun at the peak!

Remember the short weekend getaway in the pipeline a week ago? Fortunately, it took off and off we went to Genting! It was planned to be a short and casual trip with the intention to "sek fung" (makan angin).

Our journey started from KL Sentral at 7pm, after a long Thursday in college. Surprisingly, the bus departed according to schedule and the journey took us approximately 1 and a half hours.

Twilight at KL Sentral

The Peak!

Cool fairy lights

Uncle Lim's ultimate plan...

As soon as we reached, we checked-in at a slightly more luxurious hotel than First World which is the Theme Park Hotel. The hotel's interior looks rather freaky with it's long corridor and classic atmosphere. The room on the other hand was not bad, definitely more spacious then the First World Hotel.

After checking-in, we ventured out for dinner, and chose to settle for some KFC.
Considering it was almost 10pm, there wasn't anything to do besides walking around and we found a shop beside Ripley's selling some quite fascinating items.

I lvoe this masquerade...

June trying to feel glamorous... trying too hard...

And these 2 monkeys failed miserably in reviving the Retro hairstyle...
*hello, I can see the tag*

This cowboy hat fascinates me. YEE HAA!!

It wasn't long till the shop attendant stopped our photo-taking frenzy with the excuse that it was not permitted. Sigh.

Then we walked out of the hotel, to breath in the fresh air; something really priced for in KL.

It was really relaxing, with fresh cool air blewing towards our direction.

And within seconds, the whole peak was blanketed in a thin layer of mist.

So cold yet so comfortable.

Garrick, Joanne, June and me *Lg n Xiwern lost themselves*

And then there was this shot before heading back to our room.

The exciting city of KL from far during the night

Haih... Im also feeling a little weird with the amount of pics taken of ourselves.

The next morning, we woke up to a nice cool environment. aaah...

If only we could stay longer...

But I had to stress myself for the prom that night.. sigh.

I am clearly different from them.
Considering all of us were almost broke, we had instant cup noodles for breakfast.
And coz' Genting is too money-minded, there were no coffee nor tea in the room.

And because it was meant to be a short and relaxing holiday, we just walked around the hotel and went to the First World indoor theme park.

We also went to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum.
Overall, it was quite impressive I would say.

It's the Saturday Night FEVER!!

Dance till you lose your mind

It's quite interesting how our shadows alone took up most of the space in my memory card.

City amidst the clouds
After hanging around, it was time to leave for KL as we were rushing for Prom.

We were rushing, they were ****** (word not found)
Malaysians being Malaysians. They didn't realize that other passengers like us, were so fussy that we chased everyone out of our seats. lol. SO what's the point in rushing in when the seats are already allocated?????!?!?!!?

The Fab 5! I wonder who is missing.

It was a short trip but the air was fantastic!

An unsuccessful road trip to a luxurious chateau

It was a perfect Sunday where Group 1 and 2 were invited to join Suraya and Nadya at their Hari Raya Open House. That morning, everything went as planned. I was to meet Joanne and June at Su Fen's house where I will be driving Su Fen's mom's Hyundai to Suraya's house, picking up Nana and Reagan on the way. Honestly, it was the biggest car I've ever driven in my life. But nvm, I took on the challenge and 'test drive' the car the night before. As soon as everyone assembled at Su Fen's house, we left to pick Reagan up. I was totally clueless as to where his church was located so we chose a petrol station as our meeting point.
Met up with Reagan and off we headed to our destination. I have never been to Suraya's house before which obviously explains why I don't know the way. Nevertheless, equipped with google Earth and Suraya's explanation, I managed to find the house on Google Earth. So we hit the Sprint highway, and suddenly it started to pour like that was no tomorrow. To make things worse, Su Fen's mom's car's wiper wasn't functioning at one side. gah. I seriously panicked. Su Fen went down and tried fixing it but her attempt was unsuccessful. Damn. Fortunately, Joanne's Petaling Street Ray Ban glasses came in handy as it helped to improve my vision. So we continued out journey traveling at an average speed of 60kmph.

As soon as we reached PWTC, which was quite close to our destination, a kind woman honked me and shouted from her window... I seriously didn't know what to do and it took me a few seconds before I unwind my window. "Tayar Tayar" she shouted. The facial expression on Su Fen changed dramatically, followed suit by me. I have no choice but to pull over at the sideway. To our dismay, the left rear tyre punctured!!! It was again, the first time such an incident ever happened to me or anyone of us for that matter. I didn't know how to act. To make matters worse, it was a Sunday and most of the shops were close. Everyone blamed Nana for the flat tyre which obviously wasn't the cause. Nana and I searched around for a mechanic's workshop but only found plenty and plenty of motorcycle workshops. There was a tyre shop at one end though, but we were so lucky that it was closed.

The lucky tyre

While Nana and I continued our fruitless search, Reagan and Su Fen got dirty and tried to change the ill-fated tyre. It wasn't long till a kind Samaritan came by and helped them shortly before I returned. It was raining at that moment btw. Shortly afterwards, he finished his task and rewared him a sum of RM10 for his kind deed. Seirously... I really wana thank him so much... a kind Indian gentleman... He also showed us the way to the nearby petrol station to fill more air in the spare tyre. And the actual cause of the flat tyre was a nail... %*&#. I guess we were just 'lucky'.

Me filling air...

It was about an hour since we noticed the flat tyre when we finally continued our journey and headed for some scrumptious rendang and lemang. As soon as we reached Suraya's house, all of us were literally stunned by the sheer size of her 'chateau' not house...

Suraya, the proud owner of 'Chateau of the East'. Unlike any other human beings, she made her house 'the best kept secret' and has never bragged about it or even told anyone...

Fellow classmates feasting ourself

Me, Joanne.

After our meals, we were brought on a short tour round her luxurious abode. Her mansion, is located beside a waterfall, yes a waterfall, not artificial but natural. This explains the soothing therapeutic sound of the gushing waterfall that can be heard at every corner of her dwelling.

Majestic pillars which forms the foundation of her home.

Reagan, re-enacting a scene from Donald Trump's Apprentice in the dining room.

Suraya's pool table... I wonder how come she still sucks in pool... lol

Michelle clearly couldn't resist a shot with Suraya's Louis Vuitton bag.

And I was awed my the magnificent view of the city centre right from the window of her bedroom.

Position, Pose and Snap

Lame and lifeless, we played the 'Game of Life'. Again, it was my first time playing it. lol.
Quite fun and interesting but the most interesting of all was SHAG, MARRY and KILL. hehe

Me and the Tv. Yeah, it's not a poster but a Tv screen... so huge that I don't know how many inches.

Sunset at the garden

Before heading back home, all of us ventured to the waterfall.

It's unbelievable how closely situated Suraya's house is to a natural waterfall.

Me and Didabezz making good use of the natural surrounding

As for these two, they were clearly inspired by Ang Lee's award winning movie.

So that was the end of a $%^&*$&%*$&* screwed up day. If it weren't because of the warm hospitality and friendliness of Suraya, I bet it would have been hell.

The scenic view of KL on the way home.

Like June mentioned, I know how to change a tyre, DO YOU?
