Cussie's Wedding

Finally, a cousin of mine got married after almost a decade since the last one. It was the time where most of the family could gather together regardless of age and generation. Some of which, I've not seen in ages. lol. The celebration kicked off with a simple dinner at my cousin's home in Damansara Utama. For your info, my cousin is the bride and her name is Rachel.

shaking hands with the bridegroom. A symbol of good luck I guess.

The following day, the newly wed threw a dinner for relatives and close friends at Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

Because I'm doing Hotel Management, this is a chance for me to broaden my knowledge in this field. One thing I realised for sure, the Chinese tea cup had handles. Oh, and instead of distributing cakes as door gifts, they had chocolates! yeah, dark and white chocolates to be precise.

The Grand Table

Another thing I have to say, I find it really lame and corny when hotels "introduce" the first course of the meal where the waiters and waitresses come in like some Middle Earth gathering or similar. Can't they just serve it!!! Even those fancy fine dining restaurants with 3 Michelin stars don't do that. But then again, heck, we're in Malaysia, "truly asia". no... truly "cina".
Moving on,...
Centrepiece was kinda boring... lol. I mean it's "so yesterday"

My youngest aunt and my granny. I love my granny so much. She's almost 90 if I'm not mistaken. *yeah, I'm such a good grandchild that I forgotten how old is she* Despite the fact that, she's English illiterate and I'm Mandarin illiterate, we still try to communicate with my mom/aunt being the translater. And she taught me how to play Chinese Checkers! lol.

Back to the wedding, soon after all the courses, they had the cake cutting ceremony. It was rather interesting that the usual cake knife was replaced with an Arabian-like sabre.
And the most "fun" part is the champagne fountain.
About a quarter of the Yew family. That's how big my family is.

Cussies
This is my cousins family with my sister. Yeah, my uncle and dad looks alike. Well, minus the white hair. I remembered asking my mom "why does Uncle Chee Wai look like daddy?" when I was in primary school. Back then, I was so chubby and cute. Hmmm... actually I am still cute just not chubby. hehe
Overall, the celebration was great. I hope my cousin and her husband will live happily ever after in Ireland.
I guess it's gona be along time till we have another dinner like this. who knows? I might be the next one throwing it... hehe.
