Nite of Celebrity Glam

Now that we(DH27) are officially seniors, we have to act like one too. lol.
So all of us placed our hands together to organise the orientation night for batch 28 together with the mass com students from TCPJ. It was really fun working with the mass com students as I got to know and make new friends. The theme for the night was Celebrity Glam where everyoen suppose to feel and act like a celebrity.

Here are a few shots of the nite itself

The courtyard was filled with fresh rose petals.
Made it seem like a romantic wedding function. haha

And they mass com students came up with the idea of floating some candles in the pond.

What a pretty sight...

The belly dancers strutting their stuff

And then, they had performances. Seriously, the performances were so much better compared to our orientation night. the dances especially.

With great events come great pictures!

KLIA, World's Best Airport

I went to KLIA a couple of days ago to send my sister off to UK.
Since young I love visiting airports coz' of their inspiring and intricate architecture.
(I wanted to study architecture). So far, the only airport that is better than KLIA to me is Incheon International Airport in South Korea
KLIA definitely deserve some praise in terms or cleanliness, architecture, design and service. And most importantly, it looks more exclusive and upmarket unlike the old Subang Airport and Thailand's Don Muang. In the satellite building, there are also high-end boutiques like Mont Blanc, Burberry, Harrods, Dunhill and MNG!

Oh btw, KLIA has been conferred the title of World's Best Airport under the (15-25 million passengers per annum category). It's quite surprising actually, knowing that Malaysia is always first from last or at least second. lol. To make things more interesting, it is the 2nd year in a row that KLIA has bagged this award.
And come this October, Air Asia X, Asia's first long-haul budget airline will make its maiden flight to Australia from KLIA at a starting rate of RM90!! OMG!!! It won't be long till international flights be as cheap as domestic flights. And SUEN KAR MUN can't use "expensive air ticket" as an excuse to not return for holidays. lol

There's only one bad thing looming our nation's biggest airport. It is the price at Mcd!!
one blardy burger set can cost you 12 bucks!!! wth? and it's excluding taxes... Even the flavour twist is 4 bucks!

And the cashier gave me 200 rupiah in exchange for a 50cent coin.
200 rupiah is probably less than a cent... con woman. Imagine if she did that to 10 customers that day in an hour... She'll earn RM5! if she worked 8 hours, She'll earn RM40! Multiply the number of days which is approximately 30, She'll get RM1200!!! That excludes her basic salary... What a con ass.
They might wana consider the best airport award... LOL

Of Shopping Spree and Funky Hairdo

Went shopping with Joanne the other day. She claimed that it has been a long time since she last shopped.
And these were part of the shopping bags accumulated in just 2 hours... OMG!!! That's like a year of shopping... And a lifetime of savings... lol.

Joanne and lazy puppies
After shopping went to makan, then went to pet's wonderland to check the pets out.

Argghh... so cute

After that, I temaned Jeremy to get a haircut.

Everybody say hi to Jeremy... lol. He clearly needs a haircut.. hehehe

I know your eyes are pain but there's one more picture...

LOL
Too bad I didn't take any pics of him after the haircut.... It suited him really well. haha

Patisserie...

Pastry classes just keep getting better as the term draws to an end closer and closer...

Lately, they had raspberries in the chiller. haha. So, I guess I dont have to tell you what we did when Chef Karam weren't in the kitchen... hehe

And we baked stuff according to what we want and wanted...
S + J =...

Subang Jaya! Let's go Subang! YAY!

And so happened Chef Karam needed help to bake cookies for the Harry Potter book launch at MPH Subang Parade, we decided to lend him our helping hands.

We made some tarts. I forgotten the name again but there was molasses, brown sugar, raisins and some other stuff. The best part was Chef Karam actually brought out a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream (alcoholic) and poured it on the tarts for us to try.... awwww
Spider tarts... I wonder has spiders got to do with Harry Potter...
The spider is made using icing sugar by the way.
We also baked some other cookies, cakes and some cocroach look alike thingy...
And I found this interesting keychain that Chef Karam's friend gave him. haha.

Hello!

Hello Hello. Say it to anyone, it's recognised in all 4 corners of the world. We're talking about English awareness here. As we'll know, English plays a very important role in this 21st century. (apart from Mandarin) And because of that, we (mass com and tcht) students organised hello which is aimed at boosting awareness of this widely spoken language.
One of the many ways to bring people together is through food. lol. So we decided to sell some international food and pastries. Credits to Naomi for most of the cooking. Well, I don't really have much to say so I'll let the picture do most of the talking.

The delicate 'Pai Tee'. It's actually Ju Hu Car, an authentic Nyonya dish, filled in a hat-like crisp.
kimchis (fermented vege with from Korea), sushis (I'll smack you if you say that you don't know what this is) and bruschetta (fine Italian bread with toppings)
kimchis served "Amuse Bouche" style. It literally means amuse your mouth in French. Commonly served in French fine dining restaurant before the main course of every meal to sort of "prepare" the tongue for a more sumptuous meal.
OMG... I love kimchis. lol
We also sold muffins. Orange muffins coated with chocolate or topped with whipped cream.
drooling yet???
There's more...
...like cream puffs. hehe
